Further on from our last post about the Reserve Bank anouncement in New Zealand and the dollar has hit close to a five month low against the Aussie dollar. This comes largely on the bank of the Reserve banks statement, which inclinated that there will be no interest rate rises before the years end. By comparison the Reserve Bank of Australia noted that rates are likely to increase, largely driven by the mining sector, in an attempt to combat inflation.
With unemployment figures sitting at a very low 5% in Australia it is likely that interest rates will rise throughout the year. With the Aussie dollar riding so high, its a great time to send some money back to New Zealand. Both the Aussie and Kiwi dollar made ground against Sterling last week.
Here at OrbitRemit we have just extended our free payment offer so any new customers registering to use our service will receive their first payment free of charge. Please visit www.orbitremit.com and selcet the country you are in for full information.

The New Zealand dollar and Australian dollar traded in a fairly tight range over the last week due to a lack of any real significant economic data.
GBP/NZD dollar traded in the range of 2.13670-2.16950 over the last week averaging 2.15753.
GBP/AUD traded in the range of 1.64310-1.66010 with an average of 1.65383 over the same period.
The focus in the short term will be on the AUD/NZD cross rate and offshore developments.
The BoE has just announced, this morning, their decision to keep its Bank Rate unchanged at 0.5%, as widely expected, as well as to maintain its bond buying program at GBP200 Bln. This has given a small boost to both GBP vs both AUD and NZD as I write this.
For those wishing to send money back to NZ/AUS we would recommend doing it now as further uncertainty lurkes around the corner as the UK election looms closer.
Please visit out global site at www.orbitremit.com and select the site where you are to keep up to date with current exchange rates or call one of our local representatives to speak about your money transfer requirements.

The global money-transfer business is a world away from selling property, but three Wellington real estate agents are making a go of it.
Their company, OrbitRemit, lets members in New Zealand, Australia and Britain transfer money to overseas bank accounts online for a flat fee – rather than a percentage of the transaction.
The business is an offshoot of Tommy’s Real Estate, and counts Tommy’s founders Tommy Heptinstall and David Platt among its directors.
OrbitRemit director Robbie Sampson – a former Tommy’s real estate agent – says members can send money to New Zealand, Australia, Britain, the Philippines, Vietnam and, as of last month, to China.

Unlike swine flu or an Australian suntan, a student loan is something that won’t go away after a week or so. We know that for many of you out there the thought of commencing repayments on your loan seems like a mountain too high to climb. The harsh reality is that the longer you leave it to start making payments the higher that mountain gets.
It is hard to believe, but the highest rate of interest that can accrue against your loan, if your obligatory payments are not met, is 19.65% per annum, that’s even worse than the rates offered on most credit cards. In consideration of this it really is worth biting the bullet and starting to chip away at that loan. (more…)

Australian Dollar soaring high again
Thursday, September 9th, 2010The Australian Dollar pushed forward towards a four month high in Asia on the back of unemploment data released today. The unemploment rate was down to 5.1% with the economy adding a further 30,900 jobs in August.
This has also weighed in with AUD looking strong against GBP. It would appear to be a very good time for anyone needing to send funds to the UK to avail of the current highs.
We invite all new customers to register with OrbitRemit to send funds to the UK and to do it for free with all new customers receiving a special introductory offer of a first payment for free.
Please visit www.orbitremit.com and select the country you are in for further information
